Speaking to this writer in his office after chairing his third cabinet meeting on Friday, Korane said he had specifically set aside every Thursday as a day that residents wishing to see him can conveniently find him at his office.

"I will shelve everything aside on every Thursdays so I can give a listening ear to the masses of Garissa county. The doors to my office shall solely be open for them on that day," he said.

He further added that the success of devolution largely depended on the masses who are a number one partner in realizing meaningful development.

" The very essence of devolution in the counties is to have bottom-up oriented development in which the masses are the first priority," Korane added.

The governor's sentiments came at a time when he chaired his third cabinet meeting, where he asked the ministers to put service delivery a top priority in their offices. He said secretaries would be held responsible for any matter arising in their areas of specialization.
