“The High Court has dismissed a petition challenging my 8th August win. The court has in its ruling found out that the Garissa Gubernatorial elections were free and fair and within the confines of the constitution.”

“With the legal battles now behind us, we will diligently work for the people of Garissa County that entrusted us in the county leadership,” said Mr. Korane on Facebook.

The governor had said that his administration will prioritise food security, transform the current state of healthcare systems and promote sanitation, access to safe drinking water, improving education and roads in the county.

Former Garissa Governor Nathif Jama had filed a petition challenging the election of Governor Korane saying that the August 8 elections were flawed and characterized by massive irregularities.
