Korane claims that Jama is using county vehicles to traverse the county in search of votes for his re-election bid.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, the Jubilee aspirant also claimed governor Jama’s county government employees are campaigning for him.

“It is illegal for Jama or any other sitting politician to use public resources to campaign,” he said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

Korane asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate and take action against Jama.

He said that IEBC has to guarantee fair playing ground for all politicians seeking political seats in the August 8 polls.

Korane also called on the electoral agency to lock out politicians who have questionable integrity.

He said that Chapter Six of the constitution bars politicians with questionable character for vying for political seats.

“We want politicians who have been mentioned or kinked to corruption and other vices to be barred from contesting for seats in the August 8 n polls,” he said.

Korane said that he is fit to be Garissa’s next governor promising to give Jama and other aspirants a run for their money in the gubernatorial race.

The Jubilee aspirant said that his government will not tolerate county officials who have been named and linked to corruption scandals if he wins the governor seat.
