Korane says that he will create jobs, stabilize the county’s economy, improve security, and push for implementation of policies that will end perennial hunger and famine in Garissa.

Speaking at Masalani in Garissa on Saturday, the Jubilee gubernatorial aspirant said that unemployment remains a challenge in the county.

He observed that thousands of graduates cannot find jobs, adding that the current county government has done nothing to create jobs.

The aspirant said that he will set aside adequate funds for entrepreneurship as a way of curbing rising unemployment.

Korane, who was accompanied by Garissa Town Aden Duale and Senator Yusuf Haji also promised to improve the county’s economic standards by encouraging local international trade.

He claimed that Garissa’ economic standards are pathetic as a result of alleged poor economic policies by the incumbent government led by Governor Nathif Jama.

Korane said that Garissa can explore resources it has to create wealth.

The Jubilee aspirant also pledged to put an end to water problems, famine and hunger that is currently ravaging the county.

He said that Garissa needs key strategic polices to end its problems.

The aspirant also vowed to unite Garissa communities claiming that some selfish politicians are out to divide the community.

“We will fight any attempts by selfish politicians who are out to to cause rifts among our community and clans ,” he said as quoted by the Star.

Duale who addressed locals asked locals to kick out Jama’s administration accusing it of failing to deliver.

The Garissa MP asked locals to vote for change and a government that will fight for their interests.
