Garissa County Governor Ali Korane has promised to serve all residents of Garissa County without discrimination.
Speaking at Garissa Primary School playground when he was sworn in, Korane said the election is over and it is time to start delivering on his mandate.
Korane noted that he prioritize in providing clean water, improving healthcare and food security in the county.
“The people of Garissa have suffered because of water crisis in the last four years. My administration will tackle water shortage by first doing an audit of the water sector. We will address the water issue in Garissa township in our first 100 days in office since water shortage has affected all sectors of our economy," he said.
He added that his administration will establish robust programmes to ensure food security.
Korane who was elected on the Jubilee ticket on August 8 polls assured that he will work with all leaders irrespective of their political parties, religion and clans to develop Garissa county.
“Our people are mainly pastrolists. As a government we need to alleviate their economic hardship,” he added.
