Terming it as a timely move since many youths have fallen into the trap of taking drugs, Korir said that the exercise should be taken to all the counties since use of drugs is common among the youths countrywide.

"I support the president’s move as it will help youths do away with drugs and at least concentrate on projects that will help them improve their livelihoods. The government should come up with a strategy that will ensure that they not only arrest the users of the drugs but also the big fish who are the suppliers," he said.

Speaking at the Eldoret Cathedral premises on Sunday, he added that after arrest of drug addicts the, government should take them to rehabilitation centres for reformation.

"After they have fully recovered, they should be given jobs like at the National Youth Services (NYS) to avoid them going back to drugs," he added.
