A section of Kenyans on Twitter (KoT0, have accused the governmnet of planning to shut down the internet, on electiosn day.

Under (hashtag) #HoursToKEInternetShutdown, they said there was a plot to shut down the internet, to paralyse social media platforms, WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter, to keep Kenyans in the dark, so as to rig in the Tuesday eletions.

The government, through Communications Authrourity of Kenya Director Eng Francis Wangusi, Cabinet Secretary for ICT Joe Mucheru and NCIC chairman Francis Ole Kaparo, had assured that internet would not be shut down, and that social media will be accessible, but every post would be monitored.
