The surprise arrest and detention of the controversial blogger Nyakundi have caused an uproar on social media. Nyakundi, who had earlier honored the summons by DCI will now face a series of charges.
Tweeting from the police cell, Nyakundi said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations brought four cases against him.
He is alleged to have abused Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko. He said Sonko, Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru, NCIC, and Kenya Power MD Ken Tarus are the complainants.
Kenyans on social media faulted the government for arresting the blogger yet he honored the summons. This is not the first time Nyakundi has found himself in trouble with the office of DCI.
Early this year, he was accused of defaming Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi.
