Controversy is surrounding a press statement that was allegedly released by five IEBC commissioners to denounce a leaked memo from IEBC chairman Wafula Chubukati to CEO Ezra Chiloba demanding to get answers on why the elections were bungled.According to the statement released, Thursday, on IEBC's official twitter handle, the commissioners said contents of the said memo were not discussed and sanctioned by the commission plenary. However, a section of Kenyans have questioned the authenticity of the press statement from the five commissioners after it emerged it has no signatures from the five people and also does not have a letterhead from the electoral body.Furthermore, two commissioners of the five have distanced themselves from the press release saying they were not consulted.Kenyans have demanded to know who is behind the memo with some saying it is fake.Below are some reactions from Kenyans on twitter:@OngeriAbel: Replying to @IEBCKenyaHow can you release press statement without the chairperson, stop cheating Kenyans, The chairman is the supreme@robertbirundu: Replying to @IEBCKenyaWhere is the IEBC Letterhead to authenticate this MEMO?.
