Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago hosted a team of officials from the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) at the county headquarters.

During the meeting, Mandago urged the company to set up an oil refinery in the North Rift Economic Bloc (Noreb) region.

"Oil refinery should be set up in North Rift as the administrative region is already a potential oil producing zone,'' he said.

This, he said, would benefit the partner eight counties, making up the bloc.

He reiterated that his administration would help curb fuel adulteration and dumping menace.
