Kenya Premier League (KPL) debutants Vihiga United will have a new coach by the end of this week, the Club’s chairman Kahi Indimuli has said.
“We are restructuring the technical bench starting with the assistant coach and the rest. I will give a statement on appointment of a new coach probably by Friday,” he said.
On claims that they have re-hired former coach Edward Manoah, the chairman had this to say; “He is among the people being considered for appointment.”
Edward Manoah resigned last month shortly after guiding Vihiga United to KPL. The coach said he decided to step down after the Club’s management showed no intention of extending his contract which was to end in April this year.
Strangely, Manoah was among a host of coaches who applied for the post when the club advertised for the position.
Zoran Pesic of Serbia, Trevor Morgan from Australia, Roy Barreto from Portugal, Giovonni Costantino from Italy, South African Enoch Ken Yamonbe, Portuguese Paulo jorge do Santos, Frenchman Jean Claude, former AFC Leopards coaches James Nandwa and Ezekiel Akhwana and former Kenyan international striker Francis Chinjili are among coaches who want to take reigns at Vihiga United.
Vihiga United – sponsored by the Vihiga County government got KPL promotion after becoming Champions of the National Super League (NSL) last season.
