Kenya Premier League (KPL) debutants Vihiga United will unveil new players on Monday.

The National Super League (NSL) Champions are currently in Nakuru for build up matches against Nakuru All stars, St Joseph FC Nakuru Geothermal FC and Comply FC ahead of 2018 KPL season kick off early next month.

“The team travels back on Monday morning and we shall have a ceremony to unveil new players, technical bench and kit at Kidundu stadium starting noon. Thanks for your patience and support,” the Club said via its official face book page - Vihiga United FC.

Currently the team does not have a head coach following the resignation of Edward Manoah towards the end of last year citing management’s lack of commitment to renew his contract which was to expire in April this year.

Surprisingly, Monoah was among a dozen of coaches who applied for the position when the Club announced a vacancy on December 27, last year.

Hivisasa.com has learnt that delay in naming the new coach was occasioned by transfer of the Club’s Chairman (School Principal) Kahi Indimuli from Chavakali High School to Machakos Boys high School.

“As you already know, our chairman was transferred from Chavakali to Machakos. He will be travelling back for the unveiling of new coach on Monday,” said Vihiga County Director of Communications Peter Atsiaya when contacted by this writer on phone.

The team is being sponsored by the Vihiga County government.
