[Photo/Kariobangi SharksFB] Kenya Premier League (KPL) club Kariobangi sharks have announced the renewal of contracts by their five players ahead of the 2018 season.According to a statement on the club’s web page, the five players namely Eric Juma, Hillary Dan, Patilah Omotto, Christopher Kimati and Geoffrey Shiveka committed their future to the club yesterday.The statement noted that the players have been the pillar of success for the club during the 2017 KPL season and thus it is optimistic they will perform better this year.Kariobangi Sharks Chairman Robert Maoga in the statement said that the move by the players shows that they have confidence in the club and the management at large.‘’It is good to see them committing their future to the club. This shows the positive attitude they have and I believe they will even do better during the 2018 campaign,’’ said Maoga.However, the Chairman did not reveal the duration of the contracts.Early this month, the club announced the signing of Brian Makara from Liberty Sports Academy and Morgan Odhiambo from Mathare United.The two players both penned four-year-contracts with the club.Kariobangi Sharks finished third last season behind Sofapaka and Gor Mahia.The team will begin the 2018 KPL campaign in February with an away fixture against Nzoia United at Sudi stadium.
