According to officials, Gor Mahia leadership is in talks with a Kisumu based Sports Association to set up the Radio Station.

Gor Mahia Secretary General Ben Omondi says that talks are at an advanced stage, and the new station may hit the airwaves as soon as August this year.

“Exploring partnership with Manyatta Sports Association to set up Gor Mahia Community Radio Station whose frequency will serve Kisumu County then later expanded to other parts of the country,” Omondi is quoted by goal.com.

However, the Secretary-General did not give an indication of whether the station will be a commercial one to generate revenue for the club.

The KPL giants have no direct source of income. The club majorly depends on sponsors and well-wishers to fund its activities.

Gor Mahia, famously known as K'Ogalo or the Green Army is Kenya’s biggest club by fan-base.

It draws most of the fans from Luo Nyanza Counties, i.e Kisumu, Siaya, Migori and Homabay Counties.

Kisumu County has various Gor Mahia fans bases. The team is currently taking part in the second edition of the Super Cup in Nakuru.
