Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Nakumatt FC will conduct a two day trials exercise on January 4 and 5, 2018.

The exercise is aimed at recruiting new players ahead of 2018 KPL season set to kick off in February.

“Will be conducting a two day trial exercise to recruit new players ahead of the 2018 KPL season campaign. The player's selection and trials will be conducted at the Nairobi City stadium, on 4 and 5 January 2018,” reads a section of a post on the team’s face book page.

“We hope to get great talents that will improve our team in the 2018 KPL Season.  All are welcome,” adds the post.

Nakumatt FC famously known as The Elephants is funded by the Nakumatt chain of Super markets.

The team has already lost top marksman Kepha Aswani who recently joined KPL rivals Sofapaka. The striker scored 13 goals for the Elephants in the 2017 KPL season.

The team survived relegation by a whisker after finishing 15th on the log ahead of Thika United, Western Stima and Muhoroni Youth after winning ten matches, drawing 9 and losing 15.

Western Stima and Muhoroni Youth FC were automatically relegated, while Thika United remained in the league after beating Ushuru FC in the KPL promotion playoffs.
