Thika United have appointed John Njogu as their new manager for the remainder of the season.
The Thika-based side have given the former Kiambu All-Stars manager the reins and will take over from Nicholas Muyoti who left the club.
Muyoti cited poor working conditions as the reason for his exit. The club has had a change of coaches in the last one year, with Muyoti taking over from James Nandwa.
A source that spoke to the media revealed that the club was in agreement in bringing in Njogu, since he fitted the bill.
“I am very proud of it because it is a very big opportunity to coach in the KPL for the first time. But that does not mean I am not equal to the task. I want to thank the Thika United management for believing in me,” said Njogu when he spoke to the media.
“Other young coaches have excelled here and I want to emulate them. A good example is Kamau who I really look up to. He came here when very green and he achieved a lot,” he added.
Thika are currently 16th in the league with 12 points, with Njogu tasked to turn the situation around.
