Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Kariobangi Sharks are set to pip fellow contenders Tusker Fc to the signature of highly rated Chemelil Sugar forward Saphan Oyugi.
According to sources at the sugar millers,Oyugi who had earlier been contacted by the Brewers has now set his sight on Sharks which finished the recently concluded 2017 campaign on an impressive third position-
"He has decided to join Sharks.Tusker were interested in him but but it appears Sharks' project was more appealing to him and he opted not to move to Tusker", the source intimated to local sports website Futaa.com.
The speedy winger was purchased by the sugar millers at the beginning of this year from National Super League (NSL) side Agro Chemicals after an impressive outing in 2016.
He was equally impressive for Chemelil but financial turmoil that has plagued the Nyanza-based side could see him leave especially with several clubs angling for his signature.
If he makes the move then he will be the second player to be roped in by the Nairobi based side who a week ago signed Nakuru All Stars forward Sydney Lokale for a three-year deal as they look forward for the 2018 season.
