[Photo/ sportika.co.ke]Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Ulinzi Stars management has redeployed Coach Benjamin Nyangweso to other duties in the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF).Former Ulinzi Stars and national soccer team Harambee Stars midfielder Dunston Nyaudo has been hired as an interim coach for the KDF side.“Head Coach Benjamin Nyangweso has been redeployed to other military duties. Meanwhile, Dunstan Nyaudo takes over on an interim basis,” reads a post on Ulinzi Stars facebook page.Nyaudo will now be in charge of the team temporarily until the management appoints a permanent coach ahead of KPL 2018 season. Benjamini Nyangweso who helped Ulinzi Stars win the KPL title in 2010, was appointed coach of the Nakuru based side for another stint early this year, replacing Robert ‘the Lion’ Matano whose contract had ended.He acted as Matano’s assistant in 2016, before eventually being appointed to steer the wheel.Ulinzi Stars struggled in the Kenya Premier League 2017 season, finishing a distant 7th with 48 points, 25 points behind champions Gor Mahia.The team won 12, drew 12 and lost 10 matches in the league in 2017. The military side has not won a major Kenyan title since KPL Top 8 Cup triumph in 2011.
