Sofapaka Fc striker Umaru Kasumba has exuded confidence that his team will bag the 2018 Kenya Premier League (KPL) title after the club acquired the services of former Ulinzi Stars dangerman Stephen Waruru.

Speaking to the club's website on Monday, the Ugandan national said his partnership with the veteran goal poacher would hand Batoto Ba Mungu the title that has eluded them since 2009.

"He (Waruru) is a dribbler per excellence and has an eye for goal and hopefully,we will form a striking partnership that will send chills down the spines of our opponents. next season", he said.

Umaru was instrumental for Sofapaka where he notched twelve goals to help them finish their 2017 campaign on the second position behind champions Gor Mahia.

Waruru on the other end netted thirteen goals for the Soldiers although they finished a distant seventh.

The 2009 champions last week announced the acquisition of the Kenyan international for a three-year deal and is expected to lead the goal hunting mission for his new club following a goal drought that plagued their 2017 campaign.

Sofapaka begins their 2018 KPL campaign against Bandari FC at the Kenyatta Stadium Machakos on February 4,2018.
