The problem has been ongoing for three months now.

The residents have argued that the area has been receiving rationed power in the area something that has affected their activities.

"The transformer that serves this area has been exploding due to poor maintenance from Kenya Power. Poor connectivity has mostly contributed to power blackouts. Efforts to reach Kenya Power to solve our problem bore no fruits since the concerned officers cannot be found in their offices, "said Justine Kirui.

He noted that security lights in the area go off at night due to power blackouts and this makes gangs take advantage to rob residents who come late from work.

"As Kenya Power fixes the transformer today, we expect the power blackout issue solved amicably,’’ said Moses Mumbo.

Raphael Omori urged residents to ensure power connections in their living premises are done appropriately to avoid power blackouts due to poor connections that lead to transformer failure thus leaving the area in darkness especially during the night.

"Explosion of transformers is our fault because some residents connect wires poorly. We should not blame Kenya Power and yet we are the ones who contribute to power blackouts in the area. Power connections in our living premises should be done by skilled personnel," he added.
