The airline through a statement to newsrooms said that several outsourced crew have not reported to work as scheduled while some have stayed away since Friday and thus paralysed key operations.

"Several outsourced crew have not reported to work as per schedule, and on some of our flights we are unable to reach these levels. Despite our efforts to solve the problem by combining several flights, we have also made the difficult decision to cancel," read the statement.

The airline apologised for the inconvenience caused and said that those whose flights were cancelled were going to be rebooked for later flights or on alternative airlines.

The Cancelled flights included KQ350 to Juba, KQ432 to Kilimajaro, KQ600 to Mombasa, KQ740 to Maputo and KQ706 to Lusaka and Harare.

KQ782 to Livingston and Capetown was delayed.
