Kenya Airways engineers have downed their tools, citing poor pay.
The technicians also complained of lack of promotions and unfavourable patterns.
In a letter to Chairman Michael Joseph, the engineers said, “The technical production team is the lowest paid locally, leave alone internationally. There is a pay discrepancy that is affecting our morale."
They also lamented scrapping off of their allowances.
"Flight-related allowances are now in the process of being withdrawn. The allowances were withdrawn without any consultation. This has affected us.”
They are also calling for resignation of Technical Director Martin Haines for allegedly ignoring their grievances.
“We have no faith in his leadership capabilities, he lacks skills and experience.”
The airline experienced flight delays on Saturday, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded at the JKIA in Nairobi.
