Kenya Airways (KQ) has posted a Sh10.2 billion loss for the year ending.

The loss is an improvement from last year's Sh26 billion loss posted.

The airline saw its profitability improve despite its revenues dipping 8.5 per cent to Sh106 billion on lower yields per passenger.

During the period, passenger numbers grew by 5.4 per cent to 4.5 million.

Outgoing Chief Executive Officer Mbuvi Nguze made the announcement on Thursday while releasing the results.

Ngunze attributed this growth to addition of more routes and increased frequencies on existing routes.

Ngunze expressed optimism on the future of the national carrier, stating that it was on the path of recovery.
