The rugby players who arrived on Tuesday at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport were well received by the senior government officials including.
Kenya Airways was one of the company’s that received the boys since they have been the team’s sponsors for over five years.
Unlike other institutions which sent congratulatory messages to the players after their outstanding performance in Singapore, Kenya Airways stood out. The airline gave the players quality gifts to celebrate them for winning the Rugby World’s Cup after defeating Fiji in the finals.
KQ hosted a luncheon for the boys and promised to give each player three free tickets to fly to any KQ destination. Also, the airline gave each of them US $1,000 as an appreciation gesture.
All the 17 players will soon be treated to a Statehouse luncheon hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta. The president had promised to receive the boys but was held up in a cabinet retreat in Naivasha, however, he was well represented by his close ally and Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko.
