Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officers at the JKIA have intercepted a consignment of foreign currency disguised as collectors’ items.

The consignment, according to mygov.co.ke, consists of 2.350 million Congolese Franc, Ushs21.2 million, 30,154 Eritrean Nakfa and 65,000 Burundian Franc packed in several denominations of notes and coins, was intercepted by customs officers on Monday,  December 26.

It was destined for export to Fuerth, Germany. KRA and the police have launched investigations into the source of the currency and reasons for export.
