[Photo/John Njiraini]The Kenya Revenue Authority has sent a strong message to smugglers of contraband goods by burning contrabands brought into Kenya from neighbouring countries.Goods seized include adult toys, cigarettes, rolls of bhang, beauty products among other things.''I am here to oversee the destruction by burning of these prohibited goods. This demonstrates our capability as KRA at the border to burn these goods in an environmentally friendly manner,'' Kevin Safari, Regional Coordinator for Western Region, said during the burning of the contrabands.Mr. Safari warned those keen on smuggling contrabands into the country would be arrested and arraign them in court.''This is a warning to those engaging in illicit trade that it doesn't pay,'' he added.Goods burned were estimated to have a street value of 13.5 million shillings.
