KRA North Rift Regional Coordinator, Florence Otory said this will help equip them with knowledge on how and the importance of paying taxes."It's the duty of every Kenyan to pay taxes that is why we decided to take our messages to college and university students on the same since most students don't know what paying tax is," said Otory in Eldoret on Sunday."We want them to know the importance of paying taxes at a tender age since they are the leaders of tomorrow and once employed they will follow the right track of paying taxes," she added. The KRA Deputy Commissioner noted that they are targeting all colleges and universities across the country to ensure they participate in the process of paying taxes as good citizens."We will move from college to college and university to university spreading the same gospel," she said.Otory further urged Kenyans to develop a culture of paying the tax without being followed since it is not a punishment.“We want Kenyans to know that paying tax is their right for the government to offer them services since without revenue they will not get quality essential services,” she noted. To be the first to get updates on breaking and trending news in Kenya, send your Whatsapp number to 0740949990.
