The Kenya Rugby Union has sort the next move after the exit of biggest sponsors Sportpesa.
The Union is at the government doors seeking assistance for them to honour the IRB sevens first circuit matches in Sydney set to be begin in the weekend of 26th January.
The Union is now seeking an appointment with the government for assistance to see them through the Sydney sevens(Australia) and Hamilton sevens (New Zealand) as they solicit a new sponsor.
“We shall meet them and see if they can fund the team to the two meetings in Australia and New Zealand. We want a situation, where we will send players for the games and come back saying we haven’t paid their allowances,” a source revealed while talking to the Star.
The union official added that in the event they fail to secure rescue from the government, the rugby union might be forced to pull out of the tournaments both legs.
“If the government doesn’t come to our rescue in the next two legs, we will write to International Ruby Board (IRB) with the intention to withdraw from both legs,” the source added.
