Confirming the incident, Mbooni East OCPD Peter Njeru said that he was informed of the incident by the school principal, Pascal Musyimi. He also said that the students are likely to be suspended from the institution for the offense.

“Mr Pascal Musyimi informed the police that the student was accompanied by his mother Mantina Wavinya to school after being expelled on September 12 for being in possession of a phone. He was then asked to unlock the phone and that was when he was found in possession of the ‘leakage’ in the gadget,” Njeru said, as quoted by Citizen.

The student had Business Studies Paper 2 and questions in other subjects on Whats app at the time of arrest.

The ministry of education is yet to commend on the matter.

The incident comes amidst tough examinations cheating penalties following the appointment of Dr. Fred Matiang’i as the Cabinet secretary.
