Kenyatta University student who emerged second in a global computer networking challenge will be flying the country’s flag in a five-day study trip to the United States starting this Saturday.

23-year-old Charles Mutua who is a final year BSc Computer Science and Physics student was the first runners-up among African entrants in the competition hosted by American computer accessories company Cisco.

Hamza Jebbour an IT expert from Morocco, emerged the best among the 20 entrants from African countries in last year’s edition dubbed Netriders.

David Brunei, the Cisco manager of East Africa market, confirmed that they will fly the two and the other ten finalists from across the world to the United States.

“The two competed with more than 15,000 entrants worldwide to grab a study trip prize to Cisco headquarters in San Jose, United States,” Brunei said.

Brunei also confirmed that Cisco has made all travel and accommodation arrangements already,

Mutua believes the exposure will help him redefine his career path as he prepares to enter the job market.
