Independent presidential candidate Nixon Kukubo says he will beat President Uhuru Kenyatta ‘badly’ in August elections.

Kukubo, who came to public limelight when he contested first in 2007, adds that Kenyatta should be prepared for a humiliating defeat because of his ‘mismanagement’.

In yet another jibe to Kenyatta, Kukubo said the country would face serious economic crisis should Kenyatta get reelected.

“I want to make it clear to my friend Kenyatta that he is headed home. I have what it takes to beat him easily and he should prepare for an exit,” he said on Wednesday.

Kukubo, who performed dismally added: “That was a decade ago and the situation currently favours me. Kenyans are tired of these politicians whose interest is to serve their families. This is the time to send them home and I am ready for the top leadership.”

Although the race seems to favour Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga, Kukubo joins a host of other independent candidates who will be running in August.

Among those who have shown interest include Cyrus Jirongo and political professor Michael Wainaina.
