The Kenya Union of Post Primary Teachers Union (Kuppet) Secretary General Akelo Misori has given the Kenya National Examinations Council an ultimatum to make all payments to the teachers who participated in the examining and marking of last year’s exam
He said any delay will compel Kuppet officials match to Knec offices across the country demanding for their payments.
"We ask Knec to make all the payments immediately, failure to which they must be ready to see us match to their offices to demand for payment which is long overdue," said Mr. Misori.
According to Mr Misori, the payments are long overdue and are now asking the examinations body to make all the payments in the next 24 hours.
The national examinations body has recently been on the spotlight for integrity reasons, with the most recent culminating in the disbandment of the board following examination cheating in last year’s exams.
Subsequently, Prof George Magoha, the immediate former University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor was appointed as the Board chairman to help redeem the image of the embattled examination body.
