The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) now wants the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to consult with key education stakeholders before implementing the teacher delocalization program.
Kuppet Uasin Gishu secretary general Elijah Maiyo says if consultations are not done, they will rally their members to demonstrate to show their dissatisfaction over the matter.
“Delocalization of teachers has affected learning in institutions as transfers are carried out in the middle of the term,” said Maiyo in Eldoret town, Friday.
He noted that affected teachers have undergone a lot of frustrations due to separation with their families to far-flung areas.
“In fact, school Principals, Deputy Principals, Head Teachers and their deputies and senior teachers who are about to retire should not be transferred but should be allowed to teach in their current schools as they prepare to retire,” noted Maiyo.
The Uasin Gishu Kuppet secretary general asked TSC to stop delocalization of teachers forthwith for smooth learning and dismal performance in schools.
