Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) has applauded the move by Teachers Service (TSC) of promoting 10,000 teachers across the country. Kuppet Uasin Gishu County secretary general, Elijah Maiyo, said this will motivate to produce good results. "As a union we are happy with the move since some teachers had stayed in one job group for over twenty years getting the same salary despite them going for higher Education," he said in Eldoret town, Wednesday."We urge them to promote more teachers since this is just a drop in the ocean. We still have thousands of teachers who have never promoted and t were not featured," he added.TSC recently promoted 10,000 teachers across the country who included those of secondary, primary schools, headteachers and principals. TSC also promoted lecturers in Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institutions (TVET), Curriculum Support Officers, tutors in teacher training colleges, and officers at the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (Cemastea) and the Educational Assessment and Resource Centre (EARC).
