The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers’ chairman, Omboko Milemba, will fly the Amani National Congress (ANC) ticket for the Emuhaya parliamentary seat.
This is after the ANC elections dispute tribunal handed him the nomination certificate.
His main challenger, Atalo Nyamanga, had contested his earlier victory, citing irregularities and chaos that he alleged led to his defeat.
The Emuhaya MP hopeful was on Sunday received by hundreds of his supporters at his home in Esirulo, Emuhaya, after the tribunals ruling.
Milemba urged his supporters to continue standing by him until he finally wins the seat on August 8. He expressed confidence that he would win.
“I thank my supporters for pushing me over the nomination hurdle. I have invested my strength in you. The battle is still on,” Milemba said.
The Kuppet boss will face it off with ODM’s Charles Sande, who won in the primaries.
