The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) will start multi-billion road projects in Uasin Gishu County. Kura chairman Daniel Waithaka said this will decongest Eldoret town and make impassable roads passable. "We will soon start Ksh2 billion road construction project in which once complete will see 35.3 kilometers of road constructed. The roads to be constructed include Eldoret-Illula and Elgeyo boarder among others," he said after paying a courtesy call to Uasin Gishu County governor Jackson Mandago, Friday."We have identified contractors and soon the project will kick off officially. We will also do road maintainance at a cost of Ksh131 million, " he added.He however, blamed the public for causing congestion in towns due to poor road usage malpratices."People are very irresponsible. How can you conduct you business at carriage way and do double parking along highways.
