Barely a week after President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto toured Nakuru County, a section of residents of Kuresoi North are now appealing to their member of Parliament Moses Cheboi to ditch the party that sponsored him to the august House.
The residents want the Cheboi to decamp from the Kenya's oldest political outfit, Kanu, to defend his seat on the Jubilee Party ticket.
"We are now in Jubilee Party and we would like our mheshimiwa to defend his seat on JAP. The Jubilee administration has done a lot to us and we want to be part of it," said Philemon Yegon from Sirikwa.
"It is clear that the party to be is JAP; it is uniting all of us in a single basket," added Victor Kipsang.
During President Uhuru's visit to the area, the MP assured him of the region's support.
"My constituency is behind the President and his deputy," said the lawmaker.
Cheboi accompanied Uhuru and Ruto during the two-day tour where they commissioned different projects including Molo-Olenguruone Road that runs across his constituency.
Kanu launched a fierce campaign against JAP candidate in the just concluded Kericho senatorial by-election but her candidate, Paul Sang lost to youthful Allan Cheruiyot.
Efforts to reach the legislator for a comment were futile.
