Kuresoi South youths have been told to work with the county government and contribute to socio-economic development.
Addressing residents at Amala trading center, Kuresoi South, County Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto explained that youths have an opportunity to improve their lives by working with the government.
He said that the national and county governments have put in place structures that allow them to work with the young people.
“Young people should stop complaining and join hands with the government as it focuses to improve the living standards of the people,” said Rutto.
The Deputy Governor intimated that the 30 per cent tenders set aside for the youth is an eye opener for them to better their living standards.
He indicated that the tendering process has been made transparent and easier, and that youth should take the advantage and work with the government.
Ruto regretted that despite the 30 per cent tenders granted to the youths, women and persons with disability most of them are reluctant to apply.
He indicated that unemployment will continue to be a huge crisis, if young people fail to utilize the chances and opportunities being offered to them.
Ruto said that Nakuru government has put in place various platforms where youths, women and disabled persons are involved in development.
He added that the government is keen to promote development across Nakuru, and asked leaders, especially the Members of the County Assemblies (MCAs) to support government development activities.
