Police in Kisii rescued controversial Gatundu South MP from an irate mob o Tuesday in the historical Daraja Mbili market.

For the better part of the day, Kuria who leads President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection team dubbed ‘Mbele Iko Sawa’, had a fairly good outing in most parts of the region perceived to be opposition tough.

But in late evening, a raw clip posted by blogger Vincent Osumo shows Kuria being wrestled out of the campaign track and rained blows upon by identified youths.

Although Kisii police commander Agnes Mudambi has denied the claims, Kuria was reportedly rushed to the nearby Oasis hospital where he was treated and discharged.

His woes persisted in the neighbouring Nyamira County on Wednesday where his speech was periodically cut short by pro-NASA youths who threatened to beat him.

However, prevailed upon by the angry youths, Kuria was forced to abruptly cut short his speech as his caravan rounded up a tough campaign in Gusii region.

In Narok on Friday, Kuria’s woes translated from bad to worse when he was again forced to terminate his rally when he was overwhelmed by youths believed to be supporters of CCM party.
