Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has hailed opposition leader Raila Odinga for ‘withdrawing’ from October 26th poll.

Odinga, 72, has insisted that he will not take part in the presidential repeat poll until IEBC carries radical reforms by sacking some of its staff.

And Kuria, a fierce critic of Odinga, welcomed the decision adding that Jubilee will proceed and ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta is sworn in.

“Despite our past differences, I wish to thank Odinga for withdrawing from the race. His place in the history of this nation is secure, it will be written in stones.

“Now please join other Kenyans in driving this great nation forward. It is incumbent upon you to honour your promise and be a statesman,” he added, in a sarcastic manner.

Analysts claim that Odinga’s withdrawal from the race may plunge the country into unprecedented constitutional crisis.

This week, Odinga is set to travel to UK despite the fast approaching election date, a further indication that he will not be part of elections.
