Moses Kuria now says Jubilee MPs will push to have opposition leader Raila Odinga’s demands affected through the National Assembly to ease tension ahead of October elections.
Even before the October 26th polls, Odinga has crafted a host of demands among them resignation of electoral body CEO Ezra Chiloba which he wants effected before new polls.
But with resistance from Jubilee principals Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto, Kuria has taken a unique stand, which could after all solve the standoff.
“I respect Raila a lot and we are ready to embrace his demands if he uses the right channel. Jubilee does not fear anyone and I want to tell him we are ready to accept his proposal.
“As Jubilee, we are confident of the victory and even if he brings commissioners allied to him, the will of the people will stand unchallenged,” he said.
As part of ongoing pressure to have key changes in the electoral systems, Odinga has called for street protests from this Tuesday.
IEBC is scheduled to meet both Odinga and Uhuru this week in a meeting that could solve a looming constitutional crisis in the country.
