Outspoken Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria had a day to forget in Nyamira on Wednesday as he wrapped up his two days tour in the vote rich region.

Jubilee strategists had earmarked the South Nyanzan county as a possible swing region, a claim which the opposition team NASA has vehemently denied.

Initially, Kuria’s tour was generally exciting as he took on opposition team head on, only things to drastically change within Nyamira town.

Trouble started when Kuria attacked opposition leader Raila Odinga immediately after which a group of rowdy youths started chanting anti-Jubilee slogans and subsequently questioning the shortage of maize.

The charged group would barely allow Kuria to address the gathering as police juxtaposition themselves to avert any chaos.

Amid pro-NASA slogans, Kuria said Jubilee administration had made key appointments to government from the region notably Education CS Fred Matiang’i and governorship aspirant Walter Nyambati who has been chairing Jomo Kenyatta Foundation.

Conspicuously, Jubilee leaders from Nyamira snubbed the occasion, a total contrast of their Kisii counterparts who had accompanied the legislator a day earlier.
