The country has recorded low figures of voter registration with figure from Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission indicating that only close to 900,000 people were registered in the first 12 days of a month long mass voter listing.

Politicians from both political divide have been traversing across the country mobilising their constituents to register in numbers.

"Eligible voters are not registering mainly because of hot weather than makes them dehydrated and they are afraid to venture outside," he said in his Facebook post.

Kuria added: "The current hot weather is discouraging them to walk long distances in the sun in search of BVR kits."

Kuria however said he was willing to boost the figures by paying Boda boda operators who would persuade locals to register Sh50 and another Sh50 to the new voter.

He offer is only valid during the dry spell.
