Speaking to the press on Tuesday at Gatundu town, Kuria said that Kabete people have officially endorsed JAP as a vehicle to be used by President Uhuru Kenyatta in seeking re-election come 2017 general election.

“Kabete voters have done it in style, they have officially endorsed and accepted JAP as their party of choice,” said Kuria.

The Gatundu South MP congratulated Waititu for the landslide win, saying that it was evident from the nominations day.

“We knew the seat was for JAP, we were only waiting for the voters to rubber stamp it,” he said.

Waititu won the seat by a landslide, beating his closest opponent by over 20,000 votes, and Kuria urged President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to start popularising the party.

He also asked party leaders to remain united, saying that unity will be necessary if the party is to remain relevant.

Juja MP Francis Munyu, who also congratulated Waititu, welcomed him officially to Kiambu politics.

Munyu said Waititu has the zeal and motivation to work for Kabete people.

“We welcome you (Waititu), to Kiambu County, let us work together and propel change,” said the Juja legislator.
