Led by Masaba MCA Abedi Maroa, the united MCAs said that whoever wants to walk out of the opposition should do so as an individual and not to tag anyone along.

Abedi, who is also the ODM Chair for Kuria West, said that as the Kuria community, they will not be divided.

He also added that Senator Machage is the biggest beneficiary of the Cord coalition in Migori County.

Abedi's sentiments were echoed by nominated MCA Rahab Robi, who termed Machage as a selfish leader.

The MCAs also dismissed a possibility of a merger with the Kisii community.

They said the Kuria and Kisii cannot form a political party since they do not share any historical background.

This comes following recent threats by Machage to lead a massive walkout of the Kuria community from ODM and the Cord coalition.
