The MP, who was speaking on Sunday during a fundraiser at Irigithathi Catholic Church in Kieni constituency, said if the motion passes, the new law will control their allocation to a maximum of 15 percent of their budgets.

The move comes a few days after Kenyan civil groups called for sanctions against Kenya over alleged non-cooperation with the International Criminal Court in the ongoing case against President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

The groups last week asked the ICC member states to sanction Kenya if judges rule that the country is not cooperating with The Hague-based court.

Kuria insisted that the civil society has shown its disrespect for Kenya as a country for supporting the case against the two leaders and therefore they do not deserve respect as well.

"These people (civil society) were in support of the cases against our president and his deputy and they don't deserve any consideration from this country as well," Kuria insisted.
