Outspoken Jubilee MP Moses Kuria (Gatundu South) has broken his silence after a cartoon of him leaking Deputy President William Ruto's foot went viral.
Kuria said the artwork is a scheme by some people within Jubilee to paint him in a bad light and push him away from the deputy president who he says is his close political friend.
"I have been in politics for a long time. Long enough to know that people set up secretariats to support a candidate not to fight another," Kuria said on Sunday in a Facebook post.
"Some of my colleagues in Jubilee have set up a secretariat in Runda not to campaign for someone but to fight someone. How do you run a secretariat for drawing cartoons?"
Kuria in Jubilee is among leaders pushing for Ruto's presidency in 2022 and is keen at ensuring Ruto clinches the country's top seat when President Uhuru Kenyatta exits State House.
He is among politicians from the Central region who have openly said they will vigorously campaign for Ruto ahead of the poll as they are convinced the DP has everything it takes to lead Kenya.
But he said his closeness to the DP has elicited hatred from some politicians in Jubilee. He said Constitutionally, he has every right to support Ruto's presidential bid.
