Raila, however, according to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria had demanded that Uhuru supports his presidential bid by becoming his deputy.

According to Kuria, Raila had insisted that he was better placed to clinch the presidency than Uhuru but some Jubilee insiders rejected the idea of Uhuru deputizing the former prime minister.

"In 2013, everyone wanted to work with Uhuru Kenyatta. Musalia Mudavadi wanted to work with Uhuru Kenyatta, Kalonzo Musyoka wanted to work with Uhuru Kenyatta even Raila Odinga wanted to work with Uhuru Kenyatta," Kuria said during his tour of Kiambu County with Deputy President William Ruto on Friday.

"Raila said let us work together. But let me be senior and let you (Uhuru) be my junior. Mudavadi and Kalonzo said the same."

Kuria said Raila, despite interventions from some Jubilee politicians who he did not name rejected calls to deputize Uhuru and thus took it upon himself to gun for the presidency.

He siad only Ruto accepted to work under Uhuru and thus the people of Kiambu will vote for him in 2022 because of his decision to work under Uhuru.

Raila went ahead and formed a coalition with Bungoma Senator Moses Wetagula and Kalonzo but unfortunately lost the election to Uhuru.
