We can reveal that efforts to unlock the stand-off between Nairobi Governor Sonko and his Deputy Polycarp Igathe, who dramatically tendered his resignation, are in overdrive.MP Moses Kuria revealed that he is, in the company of other politicians, trying to get Polycarp Igathe to rescind his resignation.''This is a setback, I have to admit that. I don't want to preempt anything, all I can say is that we are engaging both the governor and his deputy and our hope is that some kind of accommodation will be reached,'' Moses Kuria told the media today.Polycarp Igathe's resignation came just hours after he had offered a robust defence of the Sonko administration, saying that all was on course to deliver for the people of Nairobi and to take the county to the next level.
Speculation is rife that the resignation was fueled by irreconcilable differences between the two.
