Outspoken Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria now wants opposition leader Raila Odinga arrested, days before elections, as a move to restrain him from charging supporters.
With repeat presidential elections days away, Odinga insists he will not take part in the elections, a move that has been criticized by a number of leaders.
At Ibacho on Saturday, Kuria urged Matiang’i to take ‘charge’ and arrest Odinga as a precaution against anticipated chaos.
“Kenya cannot be held hostage by one man in the name of Odinga. Time has come for us to stand firm and defend the democratic rights of our people.
“I urge our able Minister Fred Matiang’i to arrest him so that we can have peace. He is planning violence against the wish of many,” he said.
It is not the first time Kuria wants Odinga to be restrained forcefully and sometimes back, he called for his assassination.
The two leaders were leading Jubilee campaigns in Gusii region and are expected to meet several leaders across Nyamira and Kisii on Sunday.
